a rant because youtubers are shit and they dissapoint me a lot

so.. its great and all that the youtube community is acting so strongly against Sam Peppers ridiculous video and his horrible attempt to cover the whole thing up. It is genuinely really great that they are taking such a strong stand against him, the the point where his video was taken down and that people are talking about this and why its wrong and its creating discussion and everyone is just generally reacting to this is a correct and good manner. he is disgusting and his video was disgusting and he deserves all this criticism and more. he needs to face real repercussions for his actions.
HOWEVER
where was the same youtube community when their friends were revealed as sex offenders? when it was brought to light that far too many young youtube 'stars' were abusive to underage girls?
Because as far as i can remember a couple made blog posts on tumblr, or a twitter post that was like "so sad :(" and maybe they unfollowed them from social media. And i mean some video's were made on consent and relationships and abusive relationships. Discussion was made. That discussion however was not about the fact that these people were wothless scum who abused their power. No one talked about it actually on youtube, the place where this shit happened. And that makes me very angry because there are a lot of people totally unaware of the whole thing because they didn't happen to follow the right people on tumblr,, or maybe arent on tumblr at all. So these scumbags have essentially gotten away with it. There were no headlines in the news calling out Tom Millsom or Alex Day to name just two, out of literally dozens of other famous youtubers. It makes me so angry. Because youtubers pride themselves on their 'community' but oh fucking well if the kids in that 'community' are being raped or abused by other content creators, no need to talk about that, even though said content creator was/is my friend. like. i just... it fucking pisses me off. because its not the first time its happened. and since its basically been proved that you can get away with it, it will most likely saddly happen again. and fucking hell thats shit.
